Knit slippers for fairytale frolics

snow white slippers?

snow white slippers?

Hey, aren’t these the exact slippers worn by Snow White? I guess not since I only made them *today*! But they are Cinderella slippers. In the usual hilarious pursuit of designing something new I thought I was making a pair of mohair baby slippers. My little one wanted to try them on – well, they did look a little on the wide side and they were a prototype so what the hey.

no, cinderella slippers!

no, cinderella slippers!

I might mention here that while making these I did say to little one that I would make her a pair of slippers too, after these ones. Well, some kind of fairy godmother magic happened, pumpkin-into-carriage, mice-into-white-horses sort of thing because little one slipped the supposed tiny baby sized slipper on her chubby wee size 12.5 foot(!) and lo! behold! she is to marry the prince, I mean they fit her perfectly.

Knitting these slippers (I remember when I was little ‘slipperettes’ were all the rage, so cute!) is obviously going to be a bit hit and miss in terms of who each pair might be for, perhaps someone completely different to the intended. I like that!
